Church Farm April 2022

Our second trip to Church Farm was another roaring success (… or bleating in this case!)  The weather was on our side and we had a fabulous tour, visiting the animals and comparing what we saw this time to our last trip back in November, for example, there weren't nearly as many turkeys this time!  We especially loved the baby animals; several of us were wondering how to sneak a piglet and/or a lamb back to school!  We visited the farm’s many bug hotels amid a fairy forest where we spotted lots of fairies among the trees.  We also looked for insects in the bug hotels before going off to make our own bug hotels which we were able to take home.   The highlight for many was feeding the lambs.  We each had a partner and were put into a little pen with a lamb each to bottle feed.   We were amazed at how strongly they tugged on the bottles.  We then got to have a cuddle with them; they were quite cheeky but oh so sweet!  We had a truly fabulous day and as ever, the children were amazing ambassadors for Newport Primary!
