Everyone has loved their first day of the Year 6 residential to Danbury. We begun with a smooth journey to the site. Falcons were very excited to arrive and find out their rooms and groups. After preparing their beds (to varying degrees of accuracy) Year 6 enjoyed their lunch and the first tennis rounders match of the day.
After that, Group 1 went out onto the lake to enjoy kayaking and canoeing while Group 2 and 3 challenged themselves with the problem solving activities and orienteering.
A pasta dinner, with choice of sauces, was devoured in moments by every child. Many crystal clean plates were returned and the choice of chocolate or jam donut went down a treat. One child even called for silence to declare the donuts the best he had ever eaten.
This evening we enjoyed another game of rounders before our "Night line" challenge. The children had great fun working as a team to communicate with each other and move around.
Falcon's are currently showering, chatting and getting ready for bed. Several have already asked for bedtimes so we hope that the 21:00 lights out will also bring with it the sound of snoring children.
