This half term, we have been paleontologists , exploring the world of dinosaurs. We have learned about fossils and bones and what they can tell us about life a long time ago. We talked about a perfect dinosaur habitat and learned about volcanoes and the science behind why they explode. We even predicted what life might be like if dinosaurs came to Newport. We have picked up some really big words such as: carnivore, omnivore and herbivore, learning about teeth and how we can tell which dinosaur was which.
We read a lot of stories and talked about information books and fictions books, sorting which were which. We have also been very creative, making our own fossils, bones and even our own stegosaurus skeleton made from sticks we collected. We have created a class museum exhibition; but you can see what we've been up to by looking at the gallery below.
