World Book Day 2024

Newport celebrated World Book Day on Friday 8th March and chose to dress in their pyjamas for the day to enjoy some relaxing reading. The staff surprised the children and all came dressed as different coloured crayons, to represent the book 'The day the crayons quit' and the children had great fun figuring out what colours we were all going to be!

The day was filled with many 'book themed' learning opportunities and the classes were buzzing with excitement. Many children came into school with their 'crafted' creations representing books and the day showed their crafting skills even more.

Some classes made story cubes, some made story puppets, others completed quizzes and others were re designing book covers. It was lovely to have many parents and grandparents visit us at 2:45 for storytimes in classes; the children enjoyed sharing stories with them.
