Assemblies

Whole school assemblies happen every day with a specific daily focus.  Our assesmblies are led by the teachers in the school.  Ocassionally outside people may come in to talk to the children.  We are fortunate enough to have regular visits from Rev Pete and Rev Gavin from St Mary's Church in Newport.

Monday: What do stories tell us about our theme?

Tuesday: Singing

Wednesday: What do real life people teach us about our theme?

Thursday: What does society teach us about our theme?

Friday: Celebration - a child from each class is awarded a certificate and flapjack.  Children are also welcome to share any outside achievements and house point totals are announced.

Each month we follow a theme, however this theme may be interrupted to recognise national or religious events e.g Remembrance Day or Diwali.

January: People who help us

February: Families and love

March: Friendship

April: Our Planet

May: Looking after ourselves and others

June: British Values and Diversity

July: Travel

September: It's good to be you

October: Inspirational people

November: Remembrance and Peace

December: Christmas around the world

Our school values and British Values will be linked at every opportunity.  A conscious effort has been made to ensure that we are representing the diversity of our school community and Britain today.
