Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Newport certainly celebrated Christmas in style; we wore our Christmas jumpers for Christmas jumper day, ate a delicious whole school Christmas lunch prepared by our cooks, enjoyed Christmas parties and sang our hearts out at the Christmas carol concert at the local church...as well as creating festive cards, calendars, decorations...the list goes on!
Take a look at a few shots of us celebrating!
On Monday, 9th December, Newport Primary School library was officially opened by the most important people at school: the children! It was great to hear about how the children were already enjoying the library and how they think it could be used in the future; Mrs Pine read a poem, we heard from the newly appointed librarians and enjoyed welcoming people from the community who either played a part in creating the library or will get use from the library - take a look at the pictures below. If you haven’t seen the new school library, please do come in and see it!
The whole school enjoyed a morning of fun and laughter at the Rhodes theatre in Bishops Stortford for the pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty'...with a twist!
All children from Dragonfly to Falcon's represented the school impeccably and joined in with the plot, as well as the songs. Many shouts of: 'Look behind you', ' I'll be your friend' and 'wake up Bea!' came from the audience as they watched the plot unfold.
We all had many favourite parts but we all particularly loved their version of the 'Twelve days of Christmas' and shouted with glee....'and a bra that was made for three!' when we got to 'one' each time.
Well done children and thank you to all of the parent helpers and staff who supported this event and made it a success.
