• Christmas at Newport

  We all enjoyed a fun, festive season at school and took part in so many Christmas activities; we went to the church, as a school, to perform our Christmas Carol service; KS2 classes also sang carols outside school each day in the last week. On the last day, we invited parent helpers to a festive assembly, wearing our Christmas jumpers and sang 'The Twelve days of Christmas' and then we all enjoyed a delicious Christmas lunch, followed by class parties. 

  

• Magical Christmas Journey - Christmas play from YR, 1 & 2

  Dragonfly, Hedgehog and Badger class had great fun performing their play 'Magical Christmas Journey' to both the school and parents this week; they sang their hearts out and performed with glee! They told the story of 6 children who thought they knew what Christmas was all about...until they met a talking tree and a magical talking star who showed them the 'real' story of Christmas. They met angels, shepherds, 'abaaaannnndooooned' sheep and wise men...and Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. They had great fun performing 12 songs and getting in their costumes and working together to make the show great.

  

• Snow in Newport!

  We all woke up to a blanket of fresh snow this morning - just look at how pretty everything looked. Before school, Fergie explored the field and grounds and did a site check with Mrs Mortimer; then the children arrived. 

  We all had a great morning playing in the snow with the whole school - have a look at the pictures!
