  • Jubilee Celebrations

    Fri 27 May 2022

Newport School enjoyed their Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a themed day and a street party; all of the children and staff arrived in school dressed in red, white and blue for a day of fun and the sun shone along with smiling faces.

All classes had a day of learning about the Queen and each class took on a different part of her life to learn about; they then all completed artwork which contributed to a whole school display in the hall. We all made Jubilee hats to wear at lunchtime too.

At lunchtime, we all went outside for a giant street party where 'takeaway boxes full of fish and chips' were enjoyed and we finished off with ice lollies and choc ices!

The staff entered a bake off competition where they had to make marble cakes, which were then judged by a team of parents; cakes were scored for marbling, taste and presentation and the whole school loved being part of the audience as cakes were tasted and judged. The overall winner was Mrs Rafferty with her chocolate orange creation - and what a worthy winner it was!

What a brilliant day of celebrations - take a look at the photos!

  • Young Voices Concert at The 02

    Wed 04 May 2022

Newport School had a fabulous time last week at the Young Voices concert in London and showed their amazing singing and dancing skills along with an arena of other schools.

The children have worked so hard to learn many songs, in parts and harmonies and added sign language and dance moves to the songs too. They joined 8000 children in the arena and spent the morning practising, before performing in the evening to a packed arena.

The concert was wonderful, the children sang their hearts out and there were definitely many tears of joy from parents at hearing the wonderous and powerful singing from all of the children.

    Well done Newport.
