• FONS Easter Fayre

  The Sun shone, as did the excitement with the children on Friday, as families and friends gathered for the FONS Easter fayre; the well organised event saw children hunting around the school grounds for the hidden eggs in order to collect their chocolatey prize. It was lovely to see the children enjoying, not only being at the event, but older children running the stalls and games too. Snacks, books and toys were bought and the human fruit machine went down a storm; it was also great to see the jewellery club selling their beautiful hand-made wares. Thank you to all of the FONS for organising this event and to families for supporting the school. 

  

• World Book Day

  Yesterday saw Newport celebrate another World Book Day and what a joy it was!

  Children were asked to dress as their favourite book character or a word...both of these choices of costume caused much guessing from the clues but everyone looked superb. 

  The day started with a whole school assembly where children could show off their costumes in classes and we also got to see everyone's other challenge...a book in a box.

  Well done to everyone who made a 'book in a box' - they were amazing and so creative! It really was a joy to see so many different books and authors being displayed with arts and crafts and in such an imaginative way. Have a look at the slideshow to see some of the different creations.
