Our Autumn Term topic 'The Great Fire of London' was a huge success with the children. We started our topic with our first WOW Day, learning all about the story of the Great Fire and how it started.
In November, we took part in an online interactive workshop. This helped us to learn a lot more facts about the Great Fire and explore our topic in much more detail.
We were very lucky in December. We had a visit from the fire brigade. We worked hard for our homework to design Tudor houses, then we laid them out and made Pudding Lane on the playground. Afterwards, the bakery was set alight and we watched as our beautiful houses burnt down. The firefighters explained how they stay safe, showing us all of the equipment in their fire truck. They also spoke to us about what we should do to stay safe in the event of a fire.
