On Thursday 2nd May 2024, Robin Class transformed into Vicious Vikings. We started the day learning about who the Vikings were, where they came from and how they came to Britain. We use runes to crack codes and write our own messages to each other. We spent the afternoon learning about size and use of Viking longboats - we were amazed by the size of them! We learnt how to draw a Viking longboat too. We loved spending the day dressed up and learning about Vikings and we are looking forward to learning more about the Vikings in our topic for the rest of this term!
British Monarch WOW Day
On Thursday 21st September 2023, Robin Class transformed into British monarchs. We started the day learning the difference between the monarchy and a monarch. We decided on rules for our kingdom, including how we would like to be greeted and some activities that are allowed to take place. We learnt that coat of arms helped people know who was on each side during invasions, so we designed our own coat of arms for our kingdoms, before explaining the meanings behind them. To end our day, we sat for our royal portraits and painted ourselves using watercolours and pencils. We all had a wonderful day and we can’t wait to learn more about the different British monarchs this term!
Egyptian WOW Day – Thursday 25th January 2024
The Mighty Egyptians took over Robin Class on Thursday 25th January 2024. It was an exciting start to our Egyptians topic. We began the day writing postcards from standing in front of the Pyramids. We then went tomb raiding in Tutankhamun’s tomb and discovered many interesting artefacts. We thought about what they might have been used for. We used hieroglyphics to crack codes, before trying to write our own messages. To end our day we learnt more about who Tutankhamun was, before drawing a portrait of his iconic mask in oil pastel. They look amazing on our topic board in the classroom. We are looking forward to learning more about the Egyptians this term!
