We were so lucky to have Chloe Inkpen, author and illustrator, join us for the day on Monday. She worked with all classes and ran workshops, storytelling sessions, draw along creative tasks and talked to the children about how she became a writer and about her love of books. She talked to us about her dad, Mick Inkpen - the well known author of Kipper books, and told us how she loved to sit in his writing workshop and watch him write. We heard how she came up with her characters and KS1 and YR particularly loved her storytelling with voices, especially the witch. We all loved joining in with her characters as well as helping her to create new characters in drawing.
Ks2 classes enjoyed having a go at drawing her characters and they listened and watched very carefully to get all the details.
