World Book Day Fun!

Newport School opened its doors to crowds of different characters on Thursday as we celebrated World Book Day; the children and staff came dressed as their favourite book characters and the classes were filled with: wonderous wizards, snow queens, unusual animals, strange creatures and numerous Roald Dahl favourites!

The children enjoyed a fun filled day and joined in with activities set up in their classes as well as completing a session in the school hall which was set up with a reading tent, book activities, quizzes, scavenger hunts, role playing props and colouring bunting and bookmarks.

It was great to see so many fabulous costumes on parade and the children certainly enjoyed guessing each others roles and exploring the wonderful world of books!

At the end of the day, each child left with their £1 book token, hoping to find a bargain this weekend...happy reading!
