Kentwell Hall

I could write two A4 sides about what a fabulous day Fox Class have had. It was so wonderful to see them engaged and asking questions and participating in the spirit of the Tudor re-enactment (perfect curtseying and bowing) even though we sometimes had to translate the Tudor language! There were a multitude of different stations from the kitchen preparing authentic Tudor food including pottage and brie cheese pie and the dairy where they were making butter and cheese, to the Alchemist who wowed us with his science and mixed and ignited some gunpowder. In the walled garden the children loved the smell and uses of all the different herbs and plants, watched basket weaving and learned how to make a beaker out of horn before moving onto the Butts for an archery demonstration. What amazed us most was how engaged all the children were -  the boys were in particular enthralled – online you will see a picture of them mesmorised by the spinning wheel at the woolshed. We truly had a day to remember.
