Welcome to Fox Class!

Welcome to Fox class. We are Year 4 and also known as the 'Fantastic Foxes'.

Our class teacher is Mrs Waite- she helps us learn and supports us pastorally. We are Respectful, Responsible and Work Together using the Super Squad to guide us - Focusing Flick, Persevering Penny, Reflective Ron, Questioning Quentin and Teamwork Tamwar.

We have some fabulous topics to learn about this year. In history we will be discovering the Terrible Tudors, learning about all the fabulous inventions during the Industrial Revolution and look at Colchester through the ages. Our geography topics include the 8 points of the compass, trade links and settlements and coasts. We will be undertake some field work in the summer term - a vehicle survey in Newport High Street.

Our DT projects are - making a nightlight to support our science topic of electricity, a pneumatic monster and making pastry- hopefully some wonderful jam tarts. In art we will learn about Hans Holbein the Tudor portrait painter, Zaha Hadid - 'The Queen of the Curves' and Hokusai, the woodblock print artist. Science this year will also cover electricity and electrical circuits, where does all that food go? states of matter and good vibrations. This year will also see Year 4 travel in Kingswood in Norfolk for a two night, 3 day residential for some fabulous outdoor learning. Look out too for the pop-up swimming pool!
