Reading Challenges

This term, we have introduced the Newport reading challenges for all children; these differ between YR, KS1 and KS2 but fundamentally are designed for the children to read actively, read for pleasure, find a new interest in different reading genres and share their reading experiences with others.

AS well as these challenges, which can be found in the children's reading records, we are also introducing 'Bedtime Book boxes' for both YR and Y1, starting after half term. These boxes will go home each weekend with the children and will contain a range of books to share at bedtime, a teddy and a treat for both parent and child. We hope you will enjoy sharing these with your child.
